A matter of concern for decades in the manufacturing and industrial sectors is that rubber gaskets frequently come loose or move once parts are joined. Rubber Gasket Adhesive formulations are the solution for many parts assemblies—standard gasketing adhesives or custom engineered formulations. Irrespective of the fact that rubber gaskets are employed in many businesses for filling up the gaps and empty spaces present between joined materials or parts, perfect adhesion was rarely attained.
The limitations of rubber gaskets in high-pressure environments, freezing conditions or under thermal cycling were and still are quite apparent. Many rubber gaskets are not that effective when utilized without sealants. They remain intact when sealed, but when used as the only sealant for parts, gaskets can be seriously fragile or susceptible to vibrations, and cannot withstand the friction brought on by pressure, general wear-and-tear over time, and perhaps most importantly, they fail to stay in place. This causes a loss of adhesion between joined surfaces or mechanical parts.
Since additional sealants, glues or adhesives are needed for gasketing applications, Adhesive Systems produced a line of gasketing adhesives for affixing rubber gaskets to mated parts or substrates. Knowing that rubber gaskets have many disadvantages, we produced rubber gasket adhesive products in standard formulations. Rubber gasket adhesives are glues or adhesives that are engineered specifically to bond and stick to rubber gaskets lying in between the surfaces of disparate materials or parts (e.g. automotive parts or plumbing). Rubber Gasket Adhesive products hold rubber gaskets in their pre-defined point(s) of adhesion, not permitting them to move from the original place. When sealants are required to bond materials, rubber gasket adhesive products should be used to the joined sides of respective gaskets.
Adhesive Systems’ Inc. provides inventive, rubber gasket bonding and insulating solutions for industrial and manufacturing applications and assemblies. We produce rubber gasketing adhesives to remedy the pitfalls involved with gasket bonding.
