I was a social worker for 16 years and got very, very burned out with the job. I dealt with abused and neglected children and their families, the legal system and the courts. Two years ago, after 11 years at my last job, my husband and I decided enough was enough. I left that job behind and went to work at a less stressful job, but also a much lower paying job. Then I got laid off. I’ve been struggling to make a home based business profitable in this period of time as well. Being at home for the past several months, I’ve found that I am on my computer a lot already and feel that I could work a 6-8 hour per day job from home easily. I am a disciplined person and learn quickly. My home is quiet during the day, and I have found that I really love being home full time.

Recently I was at a picnic with co-workers from my previous job (I have a lot of on-going friends from my previous social work career). One of the ladies I worked with shared the MT Daily website with me and she told me she is a work at home medical transcriptionist as her previous job was eliminated a year ago. She loves working from home in her pajamas, and she told me she is making as much money as she was with her former job. I have been looking for a career change for the past two years. I would like to become a medical transcriptionist because it appears to be a growing field, especially for work from home jobs. In my research, it appears to offer not only the ability to work from home, but also with good pay. I like learning new things. In addition, I have always had a side business in the health and wellness field however felt that I was at a disadvantage when prospective customers would throw medical terms at me.

I would like to learn medical transcription not only for a work from home job, but to gain knowledge of the medical field and possibly an MT business in the future. I believe working as a medical transcriptionist and working from home has many advantages. First of all as I’ve stated, I am looking for a career change. Though I know I would be working during the day I would be able to work in the comfort of my own home. I am not a person who likes to dress up much and frankly working in my pajamas or sweats would work out fine for me. I don’t like commuting to and from a job on a daily basis, not to mention the expense for gas and wear and tear on my car as well as the commute time involved. Working from home would allow me more time in the day for myself and my family. I can be home to let my cats outside during the day and keep an eye on my grand puppies (my daughter has two small dogs). I am also very into eating healthy so being at home for lunch is a huge plus. I wouldn’t have to pack a lunch; I could just go to my refrigerator and make my salad. I like spending quiet time alone; however I can go both ways. I work well with others and I work well alone.

Over the years, I have found that I prefer to primarily work alone. My husband would like to retire soon as he is eight years older than I am. Working from home would allow me to spend more time with him versus being away from home for 10-11 hours per day which is what working outside the home would require based on where I live. I am interested in training with Future MT because after doing some exhausting research, I feel I can trust Future MT to deliver what they promise. It appears to be a reputable company, the cost of the course is affordable and it appears there is a significant amount of support during and after the training. I am also happy to see that it is backed by the Better Business Bureau which in today’s world, you can never be too careful. I believe I can structure my time to study on a schedule in order to finish my training quickly. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I already have a Bachelor’s degree so I’ve already done the college deal. I am not interested in going back to college and sitting in a classroom every day. I am already helping my daughters with their student loans, so I don’t need to add the extra financial burden of a student loan for myself. I would like to begin training with Future MT and immediately after, secure a medical transcription job. I realize I will likely receive entry level pay initially; however I would like to increase and hone my skills as I go so that within five years I can make a better income. I am an entrepreneur at heart so a home based business is one of my interests. Therefore, I definitely would like to learn more about starting an MT business as I go along in this new career.
