We all know that and ink cartridge can be expensive to purchase. It’s often the cause of the greatest sticker shock, especially when you purchase a great printer extremely cheaply and then find out that you have to pay a fortune in order to get the ink cartridge for the printer! Thankfully now it’s possible to purchase a remanufactured ink cartridge, which are cartridges that are reused and refilled. These cartridges work the same way and are less expensive than the brand name. Still, you will want to make sure that you take fairly good care of your ink cartridge so that you get the most life out of it.

Many people don’t realize that you have to take good care of a cartridge in order to get a long life out of it. People often believe that an ink cartridge will run until empty. You can get more ink out of the cartridge if you follow these guidelines. First, ensure that that copper plate located at the head of the ink cartridge is never touched. The copper plates come with a plastic covering to prevent static discharge on the plate that will damage the cartridge. This will render your ink cartridge useless.

Another tip is to keep watch of what kind of papers you’re printing. If you any of your ink comes out blurred, its usually a good idea to clear the head of the ink cartridge. The cleaning option that most printers have is for this reason. Put the ink cartridge through the cleaning option to see if the blurriness is gone. Multiple cleaning could be necessary to get it cleaned off entirely.

When you’re using a tricolor cartridge, one color will run out before the others do. This is a sign that your ink cartridge is slowly but surely running out of ink. Don’t continue to use the ink cartridge after a line has run out. It’s also vital that you never let an ink cartridge completely run out of ink. It’s tempting to do so, as you may think that you’ll squeeze a little more ink out of the ink cartridge, but it’s definitely not recommended. If you attempt to print with no ink in the cartridge, the circuit head can overheat and burn, causing serious damage to your printer.

Make sure that you read the specific instruction for your ink cartridge, and do not leave it exposed to heat as the ink expands and it susceptable to leaks.. If you maintain your ink cartridge , you will see that it will last you for a long time.
