Sunglasses (and glasses of all types) are becoming more and more an essential fashion accessory, as they can portray a huge amout about you as a person.

UK fashion this summer seems heavily reliant on colours, and how your outfit matches your accessories. Vintage clothing and accessories seem to be one of the biggest trends this summer, with vintage-look clothing becoming a huge seller in high-street retail outlets.

With that in mind, here are some top tips to making sure your sunglasses fit your outfit, and look on trend for the summer months.

Match accessories

See if you can effectively match your bag and/or your shoes with your sunglasses, get yourself some nice designer sunglasses. If you want to be top of the style charts (and you’ve got the money), grab yourself a pair of matching Jimmy Choo shoes and Jimmy Choo sunglasses – the vintage colour scheme with the trademark red strip would look ideal on any woman wanting to look super cool this summer.

Aim for vintage sunglasses:

Vintage is one of the biggest looks this year, couple a vintage coloured outfit with vintage sunglasses and you’ll be well on your way to looking great for the summer months. You could try the cat’s eye style sunglasses for a great on-trend look; the retro-inspired look ticking all the right fashion boxes.

Try some rectangular frames
Go for a rectangular frame this season, and to be really on trend look for a more vertical shape than horizontal for that ‘Mad Men’ inspired retro look. Good examples of celebrities following this trend in 2010 include uber-famous musician Justin Timberlake, and US actress Alyssa Milano.

Aviators:
Aviator sunglasses are right back on trend this year and along with the Ray Ban Wayfarer will be a firm favourite over the summer months; grab yourself some of the oversized aviators made by Ray Ban for a definite on trend look.
