Matching Your Glasses Frames To Your Complexion
July 19th, 2010
A massive number of people wear glasses in the UK and abroad, and whilst for some they remain a necessity, for many they’re an in-style fashion accessory. With the summer now here, lots of people are looking for the right look, and your choice of glasses and frame can play a bit part in that.
To that end, here’s a guide to the many different colours of prescription glasses and frames available to buy, to suit your complexion.
Blue: blue is a good choice for people with very dark complexions; if you have red hair, go for a light blue with thin frames. Oakley sunglasses make some fantastic coloured frames, so check them out for some gorgeous blue shades.
Purple: purple (and generally any light, lavender tones) will work well with particularly light complexions. Darker shades of purple are more suited to those with dark hair.
Orange / Yellow: both of these colours are a tough one for most people and can clash with a lot of different complexions. Probably best to avoid these colours if you’re unsure, although if you do want to go with them they tend to work best with very dark complexions.
Red: red is a fantastic colour for making a statement and can make you stand out in a crowd of people. Red heads should avoid the darker shades of red as it will likely clash with their pale complexion. Red heads should go for a very light red frame to properly complement their complexion. If your hair is quite dark, try a strong ruby red, as this tends to work extremely well. People with a lighter complexion and hair will want to go for a far softer red, almost pink in tone.
Green: the absolute best colour for those with red hair, greens work especially well against red (particularly racing green). If you have a darker complexion, try a deep lime or teal shade of green. Those with lighter complexions should opt for a peppermint shade, as they should be staying away from the darker colours in general.
Pink: pink is a great colour for standing out; the dark pink frames look great on those with a dark complexion, whilst those with lighter complexions should aim for a very light baby-pink to full complement their complexion.
